I home educate because …

Momma of 2
… there was a time when I realized I was very late in signing up my firstborn for preschool. And of course by very late, I mean I had two years before he would begin. I began to pray and pray and pray and pray etc etc about how to educate my children. One day I just knew. I just knew I would homeschool. Like many (certainly not all) homeschool moms I had ZERO intention of ever doing that. Quickly, I began to see in the scriptures that we are to teach our children. Yahuah desires this for us and even commands it in Deuteronomy 6. Since beginning, I have come across a hundred reasons to homeschool. No one cares about my child the way I do, no one would rejoice over his wins the way I do, no one can adjust a lesson plan based on learning style or pace, no one can make decisions for his education based on what is best for him individually and not on public policy, just to name a few.

… I am motivated by the freedom to provide my children with a faith-based education that aligns with our family’s values and beliefs. The scripture teaches us to “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Homeschooling allows me to instill these values in my children on a daily basis, while also providing them with the flexibility to travel and explore the world. Additionally, homeschooling allows me to teach the truth without any outside influences or biases, ensuring that my children receive a well-rounded education that is rooted in biblical principles. Academic acceleration naturally occurs as well as strong sibling relationships. The blessings are unending!
And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up,
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 11:19
