SAFETY AND COMFORT

“The nations shall rage, reigns shall topple; He shall give forth His voice, the earth melts. Yahuah of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Ya’aqob is our refuge. Selah.”

Psalm 46:6-7

There is no comfort in distress. Difficult circumstances are truly the test that lets us know what fruit we truly bear. When we don’t know, when fear is crouching at the door; this is when we need to remember that Elohim is our refuge and strength, a help in distress, soon found (Psalm 46:1). Safety in His promises does not equate comfort in the physical. Comfort tends to deceive us into thinking our safety is dependent upon circumstances rather than on Him. But Elohim, He is our refuge, He is with us, He is our safety. Somehow when we trust Him enough to be all these things in our lives, uncomfortable situations become praiseworthy. Our perspective shifts, and we can praise through the uncomfortable finding safety and refuge from the storm in the midst of it.
